Our Projects
At MAGIF, we understand that donating to the causes you care about benefits more than just the charities and those they support. We give to charity to support causes we believe in, as well as for the positive effect it has on humanity. Our social conscience makes us feel a moral duty to help others – a sentiment very much rooted in our values and principles. Having the power to improve the lives of others is a privilege that comes with its own sense of obligation. Acting on these powerful feelings of responsibility is a great way to reinforce MAGIF values, living in a way that is true to our own beliefs.
MAGIF calls for donations because giving to charity helps to remind friends and family of the causes they themselves are passionate about and would like to support. This we do through the various projects we undertake to empower, educate and make life better for others. Through our projects, giving to charity builds and strengthens community. We take a closer look at our local communities and consider how we can make a difference. Giving to charity, and particularly locally, can be a powerful way to invest in the people and places that make up our everyday lives.
Because MAGIF is part of the various local communities, we are well-placed to identify causes in our local communities that could benefit from charitable giving and support. We have insights into how to donate your money or time to magnify your positive impact and strengthen communities, groups, the old, girls and vulnerable people. The projects MAGIF undertakes are aimed at benefiting and empowering communities and vulnerable people through education, sensitization, community outreach projects, sanitation and environmental awareness.

MAGIF Women Empowerment.
MAGIF aims at empowering women through accepting their viewpoints, making an effort to seek them and raising their status through education, awareness, literacy, and training. We equip and allow women to make life-determining decisions by identifying the different societal problems and solving them through MAGIF programs. We create an opportunity for them re-define their roles to offer them more freedom to pursue desired goals.

-
Help selling their products like coffee abroad to increase their household income.
-
Educating them on the best ways of child care and support.
-
Through our projects, we promote their sense of self-worth and ability to determine their own choices, and their right to influence communities they live .
-
Making donations of daily necessities in life, eg soap, sanitary pads, clothes and child support.
02
Early Childhood Development.
Early identification of developmental difficulties among vulnerable children leads to a better chance of overcoming such societal problems for a better life. Through MAGIF EARLY CHILDHOOD PROGRAM, we:

-
Ensure prevention and protection of children from violence from both society and families they come from.
-
Ensuring quality inclusive education for every child with disabilities, special needs and vulnerability.
-
Ensuring the best start in life for every child and access to early childhood intervention though education and early childhood projects that enhance brain development and innovativeness.
-
Though our MAGIF EARLY CHILDHOOD PROGRAM, we understand that education is important in the protection, care and support of orphans and vulnerable children living in a world with HIV and AIDS.

03
Special Abilities Outreach Project.

In many communities, children with special abilities are neglected and with some families, considered a curse. Caring and educating a child with special abilities like hearing or speaking can be a costly challenge to many families in our local communities. The facilities and schools for such children are so minimal and pretty expensive that many parents give up on helping and educating their children. At MAGIF, we think different, we believe through our SPECIAL ABILITIES CHILD OUTREACH, we can make a difference in the lives of these children so as to break the barriers they face in their families and communities, including:
-
Physical barriers –buildings, transportation, toilets, schools and playgrounds that cannot be accessed by wheelchair users or walking sticks.
-
Communication and information barriers – the lack textbooks in the few schools there are, lack of enough teachers who understand sign language, or public health announcements delivered without sign language interpretation.
-
Attitudinal barriers – like stereotyping, being a curse, low expectations, pity, condescension, harassment and bullying by other children or adults.
SPECIAL ABILITIES OUTREACH project aims to:
1. Mitigate stigma and discrimination which lead to exclusion of children with disabilities. It is important to transform attitudes, practices and social norms around special abilities. Families, communities, schools, health care, and social services need to be inclusive and accessible so as to support the full participation of children with special abilities in society.
2. Children with special abilities often have limited access to health care, nutrition and support for their well-being. They thus experience poorer physical and mental health development. Children with disabilities and their families should be able to access special abilities-inclusive health services, support and information in their communities throughout their lives.

3. There are limited schools for the disabled. Usually this is attributed to discrimination, stigma and the routine failure of decision-makers to address exclusion in school. A sizeable percentage of disabled children do not attend school, and many of them, if they do, stop at lower levels because of the lack of higher education schools for the disabled. They thus lack opportunities to learn and develop skills for employment, independent living and full participation in their communities.
4. Many programs aimed at protecting children are not inclusive of disabled children. They face higher risks of violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation. Children with special abilities need protection from harm, abuse and discrimination. It is common for many young disabled girls on streets to be sexually abused. There is lack of social protection. There need to be social protection systems and spending responsive to special abilities to help their families receive services and support to break the link between disability and poverty.

MAGIF aims to ensure support for the well-being of special abilities children to address the issues that affect them. Through our projects, we try to make their voices heard and secure opportunities for their participation in society, including through peer support networks, youth organizations, innovation labs and civic engagement at the local level. Through the donations we get, we offer provision of special abilities-inclusive supplies, including assistive technologies and inclusive products. We enhance innovation, promote quality standards, develop guidance, and influence markets to increase access to these supplies.
04
Child-Free Streets.
Street children can suffer from mental health issues, including depression, anxiety and trauma, which lead to substance abuse, sexual abuse and a risk of suicide. The stigma and social exclusion have a negative impact on their mental well-being. Street children do not have a chance of education or proper integration in society. On many occasions, when taken off the streets, they are sent to juvenile homes that lack facilities which will enable them attain education for a better future.

-
We aim to get street children off the streets with an aim of getting them back to school.
-
There is need to help offer them a chance for skills training, for example, mechanical and tailoring skills that can enable them earn a living in future.
